Alphabetty

On my Fridays I try and do some illustration for fun. This alphabet of daily items came about after reading an article about life kerning that had caught my eye before Christmas.

I quite like it, and enjoyed the challenge of making letters out of everyday things. What do you think? Any letters that work well, or not so well?

Update:
I've swapped the F for a hairdryer and made the icing and candle on the V cake pink - excellent idea Alex! I hope it reads a bit clearer now...

Hey Anna!
This is pretty genius. I really like the ones where you have to look for the letter, like E and X in particular. N is cool -though I initially read that poor spider as an M. I like how I looks like its cut C and D in half (likewise the S-U mouse is a nice touch) Q is pretty fetching too!

Critically, I would say maybe F, L and V seem to be sticking out for me. Maybe it's that the row F is on is very long and tall anyway, or perhaps it's too similar to the E (with the long handle, and the bristles could actually be an E with a very fat base). L took the longest for me to get, and I think that's partly because the others are all whole objects, whereas L is a detail.
I like V, but I find the candle is the part that my attention gets drawn to. Maybe a darker cake (pink icing? etc) or a lighter candle could help? Failing that, there's always pizza... :)

Thanks guys! Alex, good call, I've changed a couple of bits and think it's looks better. Now, what to do with it?

I love this, i would have to say the H, B and E are may favourites, truly inspired. the letter i have the most trouble with is the k, it took me awhile to work out but i practically ah-ha'd out loud when i did...
the changes you've made have improved it too. Just a thought have you considered doing other ones maybe numbers or symbols - good luck finding a @ though :)

Thanks all!
Louise - numbers would be fun! Something to work on definitely... and yeah, an @ sign, v tricky!

Dear Anna,

I have just discovered your blog (through your Etsy shop). I collect Alphabets. Will you have this one for sale? Thank you.

Hello - thanks I'm glad you like it :-)
I plan on doing some prints of this soon, I'm currently moving house though! Keep watching my Etsy shop, and they should appear in the next month or so... (I have an awful lot of stuff to move) xx

LOVE this.. And I liked the tooth brush but I get they're point. I like the way it's not so obvious - makes it more fun and clever!
